Scooner,
Welcome to the site. Never heard of it but most timbers can be turned.

Tecoma australis aka Pandorea pandorana (Spearwood Bush, Wonga Wonga Vine)
Tecoma avellanedae aka Tabebuia impetiginosa (ipê, Pau d'arco, Pink Trumpet Tree)

Tecoma radicans aka Campsis radicans (Trumpet Creeper, Trumpet Vine)
Tecoma ricasoliana aka Podranea ricasoliana (Pink Trumpet Vine)
Many of 'em are considered weeds in one area or another, most look quite attractive when flowering.
AFAICT, none are toxic enough that I'd say don't turn them, although I wouldn't use any for items that'll hold food. I've no idea how well they turn or how the grain comes up... but I expect we'll be finding out soonish, eh?
