Here's another Segmented turning I recently finished
I actually made 4 vessels with a similar pattern. These are a tribute to the late Ray Allen. Please enjoy.

I'm not normally big fan of segmented turnings but that could sit on my table any day!!

Masterful work
I appreciate the time and effort that goes into these pieces wish I had the patience and work are to prepare them. Alas until I catch up with current projects it aint gonna happen.

Thanks so much. That wood is some curly Maple I found in the stack of regular cabinet grade Maple at a wood supplier here in Tucson. I found 3 pieces of that. A lucky score for sure.

Looking to get back into some segmented projects shortly after a long hiatus, Bill.
That spectacular piece is just the impetus I need, although maybe a step too far for me at this point. I have one of Ray Allen's books and can see the influence & inspiration there.
What are the dark bands, by the way?
