    Default Hollow forms

Had an idea for a sled to use on the saw bench, that will do compound cuts for staves. The sled has been modified three times and now will produce accurate and consistent staves. These three hollow forms are the results of that sled.

Each bowl is slightly different in shape and size, but the joints are consistently accurate. I do give each stave a light rub on a sand paper board to remove any clingons. Each bowl has slightly different treatment on the bottom and top with variation in the line design. They are all about 200mm diameter and about 95mm high. Finished with two sprayed coats of lacquer. The timber is quilted Queensland maple.

Reasonably happy with the outcome of both the bowls and the sled.

    Hi Smiife,

How many hours??? about 30 odd each, don't really know.

They are segmented, built up, not one piece of wood.

They are brilliant Jim. Can see that a lot of work goes into each but the result is first class.
