Honour board finials
This is a quick love job for the club, the guys are making an honour board for a local school.
timber unknown, fairly dense. Biggest diameter 60mm, 25mm pin and 140 over all length.
Drew up pencil gauge
cut timber to length
set lathe up, kept speed at 1800 rpm, could of had it faster.
roughed to cylinder and verniered to 60mm
marked pencil lines
V cuts with skew rolled Big and small beads
removed waste at pin/dowel end with under cut and size timber for small ball
at this point I moved toolrest in to reduce tool over hang
detail gouge for Scotia and concave curve
Skew chisel to tidy up fillets and small ball
Sand and finish
thanks for looking

Small quick pieces are always fun to knock out. Great going.
