    Might be some strange Camphor Laurel I picked up, only some parts of the tree had any camphor smell. But real nice colour with interesting lines like spalting off the tree green.
    As for spalting had a serious go at cultivating spalting awhile back with no success at all. Low and behold a few blanks went and did the spalting thing on their own.
