Huon Pine Box
called my last lidded box a labour of love and this one is no different. I made this one for my other daughter's 7th birthday.
Huon pine sanded to 400 and friction polish. Finished firstly with Proofseal then Nitrocellulose Lacquer. I wasn't overly happy with the final buff so applied some Renaissance Wax which bought it up nicely. The pewter lid was purchased from Pop's Shed.
I hope you like. Comments and critiques welcome.

Looks like a good job Scott. Although I would find it hard not to put a bit of banding around the middle......

It's work like this that gives me something to aim for. Well done Scott.

Lucky kid your daughter.
My only quibble is that there's a messy point between collar and body.
It could've been sanded out with care but now that you've got a small spindle gouge, that's ideal to cut a crisp angle.Cheers, Ern

PS, other options for that tricky bit:
1. Raffan's spear point scraper. Not a fan myself.
2. Skew used in scraping mode on the body. For Huon, take the burr off.
HTH.Cheers, Ern
