Nutcracker Mark I
Hello Guys,
I made a nutcracker soldier for my mom for Xmas. Here are a couple of shots. I am in the process of painting it right now. I will update when I get it finished.
Body measured out.
Mock up with scale comparison
All finished.

If he was made from hardwood he might. But he is all pine so I wouldn't try cracking any nuts.
He is getting some paint and hair.
Still got some detail painting to do.

Nice one Bret. It looks great.
Any bigger and you could crack Bunya Nuts with it.
I noticed that you titled it 'Mark I' - can I assume there's a Mark II on the way?... Steve

Yes Steve there will be a Mark II in the future.
I finished all the painting and he is ready to be gift wrapped.
He is 26 inches tall. I free handed all the painting. The photos make him look better than he does.

Wow, that came up really well, Bret, with the paint and other details. Nice work. It looks fantastic.
I'm looking forward to Mk II.
Been doing a bit of turning myself, but nothing exciting, only a couple of tea-light candle holders for more practice.... Steve
