All those photos of Pat he looks like he's asleep Pat was it Nicks snoring keeping you awake or is that fluid intake hang over head.

I reckon Pat was ousted out side due to a personal problem the exhaust fans couldn't handle in doors

Now my comments on the few days ...

• I had a great time (understatement really)

• Jeff and Anne were great hosts and thanks for the transport from the airport and having us down at your place
• The 'n Ken Comedy Duo is priceless
• Jim is fairly quiet but makes very incisive comments
• I got to play on a vicmarc and a stubby I left drool on the big Stubby
• I got to see Ken W do some of his finer work (he gets 4 finials out of a pen blank )
• I tried out some tools I'd wondered about - textering tool etc
• is not a fan of a burr on a scraper
• Pat, thanks for the lift almost home
• and I met some really nice people
• a thick skin is mandatory

Specific turning tips I took away were:

• polyethelyne wrapping foam is useful with ca
• hot melt glue sticks have other uses
• tru up the outside of a winged platter early in the process
• do the wings on a platter before hollowing the centre
• for the wings mark the outside edge to give you something to aim at
• sand in the sun (but wear a hat etc)
• proper bowl gouge presentation (from 'who taught you that!' Wraight)
• and stuff I've forgotten already
• Don't leave the T handle in the chuck

And I think the event needs a new name - I'm decreeing that it henceforth be called "The Keiwa Sarcasm!"

Well has officially left the building. Gone this morning reasonably early with spouse Julie in tow.

Ken W. and a few others still yet to leave.

It is truly an inspiring experience being able to put a do on like we have done for the last 3 years. Smallish events, nothing we can't cope with.

But the learning from the likes of Jim Carroll, and Ken W. to all attendees makes me feel good. And I get to learn a lot too!

It can't be too bad, Pat keeps coming back from a long way north!

See some of you again next year, wife permitting.

Maybe this year, you will get time to turn something in the spotlight

The camaraderie makes the event and we get to learn some things that, stuck in our individual sheds, would probably not happen.
