    Default Laburnum and ash baby rattle

    Laburnum and ash baby rattle. the rattle is 6" long and 2" diameter and the base is Oak and measures 8" by 4 1/16".

    This a keepsake for our latest Great-grandson and his parents.

    But he's not going to be allowed to touch it, right? And I'm assuming there's no "message" in the choice of timber.....

    When I was a kid, our neighbours made my parents remove a laburnum tree from our garden after a family poisoned themselves by using home-made (laburnum) kebab skewers. It always stuck in my mind, and was my first thought when I saw your rattle!

    If you want to turn some ornamental pieces then Laburnum is a lovely wood to turn as well as having some nice grain. Like most wood suitable protection is needed
