I picked up the same lathe not so long ago and while I haven't had a chance to take full advantage of it, I'm loving it being in my shed
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Sounded like me when I picked up mine. Think I did a little pee in my pants when I woke up that day
All the best for setting up your baby. Remember, there is no cure to the addiction.-Scott

Jim,
1" x 8 tpi is BSW and has been used on a large number of lathe headstocks.

Lucky you Dave, I'll have to visit and drool on the bed, just so it can go rusty
I'd agree with Jim - latest Nova should be 1 1/4 8 tpiregards

Great lathe, I have the same. 1-1/4 x 8tpi is right, and I just purchased a Beall spindle tap to make custom wooden faceplates & jam chucks (I checked the size 3 times before ordering).
