    Default The Magic Within

    Hi All,

Just had to share this one....

I am continually amazed at what can lie hidden below the surface of an old piece of weathered timber. Never ceases to give me a thrill.

This lidded box was from a piece of Bull Oak (Casuarina) that came from a tree that has been dead for years. The timber in the background (not the decking!) is from the same tree.
I kept the deep weathered surface cracks as a feature in the lid. The finial is from the same piece.

    Cheers,

    FrankG

Beautiful and you're right to leave the woods history as part of the finished item.

Frank an amazing piece and brilliant coordinated timbers.
