Default Mike Darlows new sharpening book

Heads up, just received a email from Mike Darlow on his new book on sharpening. This one printed locally in Sydney so it doesnt have the exorbitant price of the USA publication

I'm pleased to provide details below of my latest book. It's only available from Amazon.com.au, and is not the imported version which appears first, but the version printed in Sydney costing $32 + GST.
    Thank you, Mike Darlow

Ok I dont know him or have any affiliation with him other I have some of his books. The bottom line is he has the runs on the board when it comes to wood turning, if you're interested I can forward his email as it includes a synopsis of the publication.

Hughie, It would be well worth the read for any turner, beginner to advanced.

I had the pleasure of many conversations with Mike at Turnfest this year and attended his demos. Mike is a very interesting gent and one who has extensive knowledge of turning, from it's history through to running a production wood turning business. His engineering back ground somewhat explains his curiosity into the technical aspects of anything to do with turning.

I have two of his books "Woodturning Techniques" and "Woodturning Methods" both of which I constantly refer to as they contain a lot of great information about the how and why of holding blanks for almost all projects a hobby wood turner may encounter. They are a great source of inspiration and as a refresher on techniques.

Hughie, if you ever get the chance to meet Mike, introduce yourself. He is a very interesting gent to chat with. I certainly enjoyed his company and the many topics we chatted about. We talked about this new book and I had convinced myself then that I "needed" it for my small library, thanks for the reminder - CRAFT disease.

I try to deal direct with Mike as it cuts the middleman out and maximises his profit, not to mention it benefits my pocket as well He actually lives at Exeter not that far from me.

Thanks guys for the heads up. Have just ordered this for Christmas (but it won't come in time). My uncle gave me 4 of his earlier books, they're great.
