    Default It's a Miricle

for those of you who know me you will realize what a step this was i have never done this before and have been wanting to do bowls and other stuff for years now and finally join woodturners of the Hunter and this is my first effort i do know that is a crack you can see but really I didn't expect for it to work it is made from Camphor and has NO finish on it yet but after a great deal from Neil (Ubeat) at the Sydney show on several of his products i will finish it soon.

    Cheers Ian

    Congratulations on your first bowl.
You will now be keeping a lookout for larger bits of timber other than pen blank size, and will eventually need more storage room like the rest of us for all those interesting "there might be a nice bowl in there" pieces.

I'm sure you will have fun,
    Alan...

Congratulations, it looks very good. Now begins the down hill slide. tools, chucks, finishing gear and another lathe to work on while the glue is drying. Just wait until you start cutting and gluing..
    Welcome to the fraternity.

Nice work Dorno. Neil's show prices were pretty good weren't they.
And no, I haven't turned a pen yet
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Ian well done should have taken it to the show so it could have been fondled by all.

CA the crack mixed with coffee grinds or some acrylic poured in.

I see pen blanks becoming segmented bowls

A nice job Ian - pity I wasn't there to witness your first "real" turning.
