    Default Myrtle bowl

Finished this small bowl today , I think it,s a myrtle burl , it has some beautiful birds eye and burl with nice colour the photo doesn,t show it off very well, approx 150mm x 100mm , just one coat of D.O. which seemed to dry a bit dull so might have to work on the finish again
Any comments and advice welcome as always

G'Day Smiife, Nice piece of wood, not a bad profile either. . With that piece I would have considered filling the void with an epoxy and coffee grounds, to simulate ingrown bark. Looks good.

Hi Jim , thanks for your thoughts mate , always appreciated, I did think about filling the void ,but decided to just leave it natural 👍

G'day smiife, I agree with Jim on the wood and the shape however I wouldn't use resin to fill the void. Its a personal taste thing but I like to leave the wood as natural as possible and let it tell a little of the story of its life. When I discovered resin I was filling all imperfections in what ever I turned but now will generally only use resin to stabilise a piece I think I cant turn otherwise.
