    Default Natural edge camphor bowl

My first time turning camphor - fantastic smell - just like Vick's vapour rub
I picked up a large log for $4 at the Melbourne wood show, and I've been able to get 6 natural edge bowl blanks from it. Happy with that.

The form is a bit strange, but I was trying to maximise the color, and a nicer shape would have cut most of it away.
About 150mm in diameter, sanded to 600 and finished with traditional wax.

I just love the smell of CL in the morning.

    Love that bowl too

It's only a foot long, but I don't use it as a rule

Well done holding the bark on not always as easy as it seems.

Don't know about your CL but we have several trees that just want to shed or shrink away from their bark if you try this - Laburnum is a prime example.

You don't give dimensions - what size is it please?

Looks fantastic. Yes camphor is lots of fun to turn. Especially when you hit the pockets of the super smelly stuff

    Great looking bowl.
