    Default natural edge winged bowl

Hi guys , I was given some willow a while back , wasn, t
to keen on it , most split and cracked straight away , so
I cut it up for firewood , so i thought i would make a prototype
of a winged bowl out of it and was expecting it to split or fall
apart , and just toss it out afterwards ..........
I was quite surprised how it turned out, still very plain timber
so might even stain / colour it yet , would like to know what
you guys think so far , just used sanding sealer and a coat of
    oil......
    Any comments or thought appreciated

Looks great to me, you've managed to keep the wings perfectly square, which is hard to do and makes it look a lot better IMO.

The top rim has a lip, did you intent turning it into a box? It will look good with a sphere box and dainty finial, something that doesn't overpower the design and look, could even be a simple small teardrop handle.

    Greetings smiife
I like the simple nature of the piece, nicely curved bowl with a straight wing and a nice finish. However I find the size of the wing a bit on the large side relative to the bowl. I feel it may have looked better if the bowl had been a bit larger, nearly out to the bark.
Here's one I whipped up quickly, what do you think

Fantastic job. Look at all that canvas to play with can dye or pyrography or at that thickness and she is a practice piece maybe look good some piercing in the rim edge

    keep on plugging away
