Two Norfolk Island pine bowls
Don't do many bowls now, they create too much cleaning up. These two bowls generated three wheel barrows of shavings. I did attempt to core them but the coring system I have wasn't big enough. When I did attempt coring I couldn't break out the core because they are into the end grain. The log was about 450mm diameter and 600mm long with two "sets" of radiating branches. I decided to try something a bit different and turned one with the branches at the bottom to create a "star" effect in the bottom. The second bowl was turned with the branches at the top.
Both bowls are approximately 325mm diameter and 140mm deep. Finished with two coats only of sprayed lacquer.
