Default Any opinions? "Sherwood 350x510mm Induction EVS Vs. Woodfast 305x510 induction EVS"

    Hi,
Ive just sold my trusty Woodfast M408H and for the sake of "body preservation", I'll explore turning of smaller things...
    I've been looking at the Sherwood (MC-1420-VF) 350mm x 510mm Induction 1HP EVS from Timbecon $1379, and at the Woodfast (WL1220)305mm x 510mm Induction 1HP EVS from CWS $1099.
It is a significant difference in price, yet the specs seem similar except that the Sherwood has 2 pulley speed control, the Woodfast has 3 pulley speed control.
Does anyone have any experience with either? any informed opinions will be appreciated.

No experience of either, but unless the extra 45mm (30mm?) of swing on the Sherwood is important to you, I'd be going with the Woodfast. I base that in part on the Woodfast EVSs that have proven to be very reliable.

Easy enough for you to go down and have a look at one down at Jim Carroll's...CWS.
    Stay sharp and stay safe!

    Cheers Neil,

All the above, and I know the follow-up service at CWS... Decision made.

I would go that way as well, unless you absolutely need the extra 30-40mm. Also by the look of the price the speed control would frequency so at lower speed torque goes, with three step pulley you can by moving the belt to the smallest driver gain mechanical advantage.
