Smiife ...... my wife is cursing you.

Tried a 6 spoke but this is not the best timber for it

Could have been interesting as a 4 spoker but then a nother catch ... fire wood. There goes my Saturday morning.

Imspired Im going to do something else ... yes more spirals. Obsessed - whose obsessed!

and here is for something a bit different

But I think I need to get the corners square, need someone to send me a square file and maybe a triangular file

Had to lower one plane to make the two directions stand out from each other

The more I look at the two slotted one the better I like it, it is not as fussy as the others. As for the failed one well not so much a failure but an interesting pattern with a wide slot and a narrow slot worth following on.
As for the double one that is just great.

The first thing I thought when I saw this one was a DNA double helix... maybe drill some holes through the two wood sections and glue in contrasting dowels

Have to admit to starting one of these for myself this afternoon

It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

It would be a lot of work but I think a salt and pepper grinder cut out and then cast in resin so the void is filled than them turned into the grinder would be pretty impressive as well

I am working on something else there too. That only leaves me about 2 other ideas that you have not mentioned plus one biggie. The big idea is a year or more away. Need new lathe and new cave for the big one
