Pepper grinder with a twist
Well finally I got back into the cave and thanks to big Stan I had some red ash to use.
Some time ago I had a go at some spiral work. It was just practice for a candle stick. It gave me an idea and this is sort of it.
It worked rather well
This week is the first time I ever did a pepper grinder. Probably need to work on a better shape for the knob
But all in all I was not too disappointed.
Open to critique, advise or come what may.

Great concept there Dave
I was looking at yard glasses and long vases at the reject shop (as you do ), for cutting the tube out nd doing something similar, but never got round to it . Now you have given me proof of concept I can start looking again

Dave, you have put your foot in it now with the brilliant piece of lathe work, Trev is looking for some one to do lathe work for maybe his next project. John.

Thanks guys
Brendan the tube is food grade acrylic. Can't remember how much it was, this is a project I meant to do early in the year but only got to this last week

Well I'm in the land of the never-never here mate!
I don't know how you do is stuff without MDF, PVC and bodyfiller.
But I can say that the pepper grinder's fantastic!
I really love that twisted effect.
I know you told me how you did it when you made the candle sticks.
But honestly mate memory like a Goldfish.
Still it impresses the heck out of me.
You'll have to fill me in again on the detail over coffee and pancakes in a couple of weeks
Cheers Cowboy great stuff mate.
Trev.

Thanks smiife.
I've been flat out looking after my brothers twins for much of the year. They are high needs children and it has been busy as. Things should settle by the end of the year. Did not get back into the cave today but hoping I might pull something off tomorrow.
