Love the timber in the 4th photo.
    Any idea what it is?
Look forward to seeing it finished.
The rest of the items look pretty darn good too!

the vase is going to be a hard one its about 12ish in tall and about 6in" wide. As its dried its cracked and opened up a bit, so i think ill have to hand sand it. not sure how it will go back on the lathe again. its been drying for about 6months now

    Default The Cement Floor.

    Hi Matt au,
The Cement Floor is not real good for standing on while spending a fair amount of time making Bowls & whatever.
Make a Wooden " Duc Board " to Stand on.
Nice & kind of bouncy, but Oh so much better for you Legs & Back.
Mine is on 4 x 2's, with ¾in. thick pine strips, about 1½in.wide, with 1in. gaps for the shavings to go through.
If of course you do this, then you may have to raise your Lathe to suit, but you will find the benefit of using it after awhile.
    Just my 2scents worth.
    Regards,
    issatree.

    Default The Board.

    Hi Matt au,
Mats are not really the answer, as you are still standing in all the Shavings.
If you are Turning Dry Wood then every time you move, you raise the dust.
Sorry if I'm being a pain, just trying to help.
Have a couple of Turners down here wished they had used a Duc Board, to late now.
    Regards,
    issatree.
