    Default What is it Please

    Any idea what this is called , I know it is for creating circles , got it at a swap meet as it looked intresting it has a screw end on the end of the wooden handle and a cutting edge on the sliding piece . Made by Schmidts

    It is a trammel set used for marking /cutting circles

    Yep, it's definitely a Trammel but it's got a further trick - that bit at the right hand end, it's not there for show, it does something more but I can't see what - sorry.

    Anybody else want to take a poke?

    Thanks fellows now I know what to call it , the piece on the end has provision for a insert of some sort with a slot head screw to lock in place
