Post Pole lathe vs Power lathe

Probably been posted before but always worth a look.

The amount of wood removed at the finish is a surprising take on the two turners racing each other.

I would LOVE to have a pole lathe! I think somehow Robin would be the better turner on a power lathe anyway!

How did robin take his bowl off the lathe! They were on the other bloke with the camera at the time.

When the centre core cuts through the drive shaft drops and the bowl comes free.

See this section of another video by Robin.

When I first saw this several years ago, I thought that the guy on the motorized lathe didn't really look like he really knew what he was doing. Maybe a turner, but not a production bowl turner.

I have always thought that learning to use a pole lathe and a treadle lathe would be fun. If only I had good knees and hips!
