Stress Relieved Maple. Try "cuecomponents.com/cueboco1.html" I know a local man that makes some beautiful cues & said he has to use a special wood. Also he quit using a woodlathe, he uses a metal lathe. They are a 3 piece set. Have fun.

I would advise you not to do business with that company. Caveat Emptor.

Pool cues often have a maple shaft, snooker cues ash, but other woods have been used over the years. Eg Rosewood, purpleheart.

Make the butt out of just about whatever takes your fancy.

I tend to let the wood age several years during the turning process.

Plenty of into out there if you want to google a bit........

PS - Purists don't like the feel given by kiln dried wood.
