Powder lidded box
Taking advantage of some shed time to use up some of those special pieces lately. This small box was made from a mix of W.A. shee oak and some Queensland flame she oak. The box is 80mm diameter x 55mm high. I used some budgeroo as an insert in the bottom so I would not loose 10mm of depth. The budgeroo took a beautiful chased thread. The she oak of the lid also was very nice the thread. The box was finished with two coats of sanding sealer, one coat of sprayed lacquer and buffed with wax. Some hand crafted motifs were used to add to the top and bottom.

Nicely done sir, a very delicate and well detailed powder box.
