    Default A project without glue

Here is the piece of wood that was turned into a bowl/dish without any glue. Just finished this afternoon. Finished with sanding sealer and a sprayed coat of 30% lacquer. The timber is, I think, one of the "barringtonia" family. There is one species aka china pine or mango pine. The structure is very similar to mango.
The bowl/dish measures 300mm on the long axis and 250mm on the short axis. Although the bowl/dish is oval in plan, it was turned round on the lathe.
And done without any veneer bandings or motifs, a truly one off......

    Jim
