Have you used one yet? If so, how did it look? I would be concerned that there would be splitting and or rot through the wood.

    Cheers,

I cut three 200mm pieces off the sleeper and it seems free of rot and splits.

I've started turning one peice and it's coming up ok considering you have a novice turner and (probably) a blunt roughing gouge - it can't be that bad because I was getting nice shaped chips off it.
    I'll post a pic tommorrow.
    Cheers

    Hei Joe,
New as in unused, untreated nice fresh Jarrah - I got a good one, he had two packs there and some look fairly rough but there were a few that looked good.
He says he has a source and gets them regulalry.

If sleepers there are anything like here, they will be green as the day they were cut.

Is there anything easier done than said?
