Qld maple hollow form
A hollow form made from quilted maple sing a stave system instead of segmenting. All the joints were glued up straight off the saw without any sanding. Interesting to note the variation in colour although all pieces are Queensland maple. Except f course the dark lines 9Queensland walnut) and the opening at the top is ebony,
The piece measures 210mm diameter and aboute 105mm high. Finished with two sprayed coats of lacquer.

Remarkable quality joinery, and straight off the saw, simply proves that skill and knowledge of the materials and processes can achieve outstanding accuracy with minimal process steps.
Excellent craftsmanship as always.Mobyturns

That is a really nice piece Jim, eye catching but not too busy. You've got to be happy with the final result.
