    Default qld silky oak platter

    Hi guys,
    Not sure where this blank came from (qld I suppose)
    Anyway i made it for a 50th wedding anniversary
    For my partners aunt and uncle, It, s qld silky oak
    approx 300mm round,, finished with eee and shellawax
    Any comments and advice welcome

    Looks great, was unsure of the base at first but it really gives the platter nice depth off the table!

    I like it and agree the base gives it a nice line to the top.

    I have got the platter back today from the engraver
    thought some might be interested in the finished
    result, hopefully they like it, I would like to know
    what others think??

    Geez too late now, but I would have put 50th Anniversary instead of years, to me it looks like they both died
