I have bought from Banggod, and they usually arrive quickly, sometimes from their Australian warehouses (only if its indicated on their website). But they can be expensive. Have you tried Aliexpress?

I haven't checked on AliExpress, the Red Arrow ones popped up in an ad today and I liked the look of them - and 24" long tools are of interest to me

Just be aware that the price is per tool and not for the pictured set. This is very common on Ali and Bangood ; they show pictures of multiple items, but sell only single items. In Australia it would be deemed deceptive trade practice.

Reasonable quality turning tools at reasonable prices.
Woodturning Chisels - HSS Blanks - Handles - Woodturning.
Sure they are made in China but a Sydney buisiness and really good to deal with. Over the years I have got a few things there and never had a dud. I have had real hassle trying to return mail order stuff and get a refund to the point where I avoid (as much as possible) having stuff shipped from overseas.

I have been using Robert Sorby all the way, and have yet to be disappointed. I think a lot can be said for buying good tools from the start and avoiding cheaper stuff that may not hold an edge as well or rust prematurely. probably only saves bucks in the short term.

Suddenly they’re not all that cheap. Personally, I’d rather go for a well known brand, those aren’t cheap enough to justify the risk.

I did read in the reviews of the tools that made the point the price was for one tool. As the US price quoted for North Carolina is very close to Crown or Sorby HSS at a retail store, I would not risk sending $$ to China. I have bought used like new Benjamin's Best made in China, HSS 1/2 inch bowl gouge and 1 inch scraper, both for $35. They did as well as my Crown and Sorby stuff.

I have no idea about these tools, but I've bought other things from both Banggood and Aliexpress. I believe Banggood is a single company, but if I remember correctly Aliexpress is like eBay; multiple sellers using it as a storefront. Having said that, I've never had a problem with either site. I'd go a step further and say that a great deal of stuff available to buy in Australia, both online and in stores, is actually resellers buying from these sources and then marketing locally at (sometimes alarmingly) marked up prices.

Buying the same goods from a local site gets quicker delivery and removes the "buying from China" risk/fear/stigma, but you pay more $ and the money goes to the same place eventually. I like to support local businesses, but I'm not sure that reselling Bangood products at a far higher price qualifies as "local"!
