    Default Red Mallee Burl

Been a long time out of the new shed, in fact still setting it up. Here is a Red Mallee Burl dish, finished in EEE AND Glow. It could have been deeper but really it's just to stick in my study and look nice.

A very fine piece of red mallee, well done.

Looks great. how'd you go finishing with the natural burl sections on the underside?

Hi Faulko. I just used a big thick wad of cloth and some friction polish and didn't have a problem with the bottom.

    Very nice.
I've never turned any burls, but I can see I'm going to have to try to get my hands on some. Now the cold weather's coming and the firewood vendors have come out of the woodwork, (pun intended), I'll have to dash out to South Nowra soon and see what they have laying around.
