Raffan has some videos on bowl gouge grinds and uses on YT.

He mostly uses scrapers to completer the inside bottom of bowls, so doesn't include an inside bottom of bowl (BoB) grind. He also only uses the terms deep and shallow to describe the flutes, although he does include many of the different gouge makers that most of us have...

He also has a video on his asymmetrical bow gouge grind...

PS - Coming from the UK, Richard uses their convention of using the flute width to describe the size of a gouge and not the diameter of the bar, so what he is calling a 1/2" gouge is what most other countries and we in Australia call a 5/8" gouge.

This grind is really interesting, i like how the left side is used for pull roughing cuts and then the right for the inner coring push cuts (if that's the right term) id like to attempt this grind for my 1/2" bowl gouge.

Thanks for the video, ive watched a number of Richards and is the reason i have three large scrapers, i also find them useful for inside of bowls but i haven't come across this video specifically

    Cheers,
    Nathan

OK, Nathan, I have now taken those photos. I thought the topic deserved a dedicated thread of its own. It's been awhile since we have had a thread on grinds, so I reckon it is about time we did that again.
