Replacement drive belts
Hi all,
I'm looking for a replacement drive belt for my late grandfather's lathe (a Craftmaster CWL-1000S, which it seems nobody's ever heard of!). Anyone have any ideas on the best place to find such things? I've sent email off to a couple of places in Brisbane, but no joy so far.
Looking to get back into woodwork in general and turning in particular after not doing any for 3 years or so, should be fun .
Thanks,
Danny Smith

An industrial supplies place will keep basic belts and can refer you to specialist suppliers.
Do you have the old one as a sample? Belts vary not only in length but also cross-section.

Thanks Ern, will give that a go - I do have the original belt, so hopefully a replacement won't be too hard to find.
Cheers,

Found one!
In case it might come in handy for anyone else, Lewis Hoses & Seals (in Slacks Creek, just near Moss St) has a pretty good selection of belts, including one that pretty much perfectly matched what I needed. All for the princely sum of $6.05.
Cheers,
Danny

Might have to change your handle to 'OverEagerBeaver'. Last post on this thread prior to your two today was over 16 years ago.
