    Default Ringed Platter

This is made from blue gum burl about 600x 50 mm and finished with towards Orange oil wiped on daily for about two weeks till it was saturated then left to dry for another two weeks then two coats of Howards orange tung oil.

That looks really sweet Tony Don't know if it's the colour of the timber or your Orange Oil but it just looks great!

    Excellent piece Tony.

Well turned and finished a real credit to your skills. The extra effort in the finish is very well rewarded I believe and showcases our beautiful Aussies burls to showcase the richness of colour they possess.

Thanks for the comments its the first turning I have done for a while so I worked on making it worthwhile and have listened to advice and comments from this forum and WOW forum and hope I have achieved the result. I have had fair bit of blue gum burl over the years and have always found it nice to work with great colour, I will take it to Turnfest this week.
    Cheers Tony
