rosewood spiral candlesticks WIP
hi guys ,
i made these candle sticks over a 3 day period,
so thought i would take some photos as i progressed,
and also got me thinking how would you cost these
if you where to sell them????? i think i have put about
16 hrs into them, mind you i'am a bit slow when it comes to turning
and they are for a friends 85th birthday present,
started with a nice chunk of rosewood
27042013(001).jpg
turned down to a billet
27042013(003).jpg
marked out a grid pattern to follow
27042013(006).jpg
started with a forstner bit to rough out the
spirals
27042013(007).jpg27042013(008).jpg
then sand and sand and sand,i started with the dremel
but found the power file a quicker option
28042013.jpg
finished with 400grit,then danish oil,EEE and glow

Stunning, what a present to give.
What are they worth? Any price you want to put on them, If someone think's it too much, they don't appreciate the wood or work involved.

Hello Smife,
Just excellent. Many hours of labour, but the outcome makes it worthwhile. Well done. Drillit.

Hi,
Very nice, of course if you really wanted to show off you could have left a ball in the middle.
