Thread: Salt and pepper mill opinions?

The best mills on the market are the crushgrind ceramic mills.

They enable you to use them for salt or pepper as well as a herb mill. These are available in 260 and 470mm ;lenghts.
these can be shortened to suit your particular design. The design can be fairly flexible as the rod does not have to go through the top like the danish mills

There is the danish salt and pepper mills.
These require you to use the metal mill for pepper and the plastic mill for salt.
The rods have a knob on top so your sizing has to be accurate.
They are readily available in 7", 12" and 17"

+1 for Crushgrind, I use nothing else

Jim, any thoughts on the robert sorby relief cutting tool and the crushgrind mill drill you sell? I do have a a bad habit of measuring once, cutting once, and then swearing once, so the idea of the mill drill does appeal...

They are very good accessories to add when setting up.

+2 for the ceramic crushgrind.

There are plenty of how too videos and instruction sheets out there. I found Brendan Stemps' video on UTube to be very helpful.

Danny, as mentioned I have a few videos that may be of help to you in making your decision on the Crushgrind. I love them and like Dai Sensai wouldn't use anything else. But the only down side is there are more holes to drill than some of the other mechanisms. But once these have been drilled the fit up is super easy. I have provided you with some links below.
