Seeking an idea of value of very very VERY old hardwood farm fence posts?
G'day. Our farm is over 100 years old and we have a heap of very old fenceposts (box, red-gum, iron-bark) that we have saved and stacked after replacing them with new hardwood fencing). We have been told they would be very good for woodworking, turning etc. They would range in length from say 4' to 6' and are the original split type of fence posts, now very gnarled on the outside etc.
They are way too good to cut up for firewood so if anyone can enlighten us as to how much they might be worth, where we could advertise or whom we could approach etc that would be most appreciated.
Cheers
