    Default W.I.P table lamp

    The woodie club I'm in has an exhibition comming up and usually has a raffle prize made of wood! We decided on something turned this year and a lamp has been chosen.
    so today I had a few members around and set to it! I have not had problems long hole boring until today but we worked around it and got it turned with 2 coats of shellac, the Timber is champhor laurel.

    I was lucky enough to be one of the other woodies club members along for the lamp turning demo yesterday. Thanks, Charlie. I picked up a few useful tips along the way.

    It was good to see a production turner at work, too - this was knocked over in no time flat. (It would have taken me a couple of days to bore and turn the stand and base.)

    I'm looking forward to seeing it with the finish coats applied. The base has very lovely figure and will come up great.

    (Thanks for those nice pieces of NGR too, Charlie. They'll be put to good use.)
