    Default Shepparton Wood Show

Next weekend or the Labour Day weekend is the Shepparton Wood SHow. Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th March. I reckon its the best regional (Vic) wood show. Well worth the visit.

I'll be there doing demos and with a small shop. Carrolls is also a regular.

Here is a link to a video I did of last year's event: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYfpyaQ7jok

    Hope to see you there.

Good Video there Brendan, I watched it all the way through. I don't think we have anything like that in WA, if only I had some time, can't wait to retire.

I agree a good video of the event, I like that you didn't labour over one person and their craft, but gave each person a minimum amount of time to display their craft and/or product, then moved on, short and sweet.

I haven't been to that show and probably cannot make it this year, but I'm assuming it is similar to the Ballarat one, which I'm assuming you probably have attended as you live relatively close by.

The Shepparton club put on a very good show and get the whole club involved.

There will be about 50 demostrations going on over the weekend, which takes a fair while to get around, they cater for both mum and dad so each is busy for the time they are there.

The club put in a great effort and this is reciprocated by the community as they come in large numbers.

Many travel for a couple of hours to get to this show as they know they will not be dissapointed.

We will be there as brendan indicated, a must not miss weekend on our travels.

    Default a good day

Hi team, Swmbo and I spent an enjoyable Saturday at the Shepparton wood show. Plenty going on. Eildon Woodturners had two lathes going nearly continuously plus some good special on tools. Brendan Stemp did some great Demos including one especially for my partner and I plus a few onlookers. I don't remember all the names, sorry, but it was an entertaining as well as informative day. Well worth the drive from Melbourne. Jay

I put this same reply on another post where this show was advertised.
(Sunday) Just got back, and what a fantastic show they put on. So many demonstrations, displays, and sales in an enormous auditorium.
Had a great evening last night, as I was invited back to their clubrooms for a barbeque tea with their members and demonstrators etc, and got a tour of their workshop facilities. What a great asset they have, and they make very good use of it.
If you didn't get there this time, watch out for next year's event and try to make it, you won't be sorry.
I too did not get any photos which was a shame, as I am trying to remember all the demonstrations that were on, and where they were.
If anyone had a layout of the show that I could get a copy of, it would be much appreciated.

    Default That Great Show.

    Hi All,
Well, I haven't been to Shepp for many years, & was not disappointed.
I to did not get any photos.
Ran into a lot of Old Friends that I have not seen for quite awhile.
Saw a Bowl, a bit bigger than what Brendan does, " Gutter " was a bit wider & had Green Gum Leaves in it, Very Impressive.
Len was doing some fine Bread Boards, & there so many other Demo's going on.
Didn't even get to say Hello to Irene & Jim, as they were so busy.
We all should have had Our WW F ID's on, as it seems I missed them, but knew a few.
    Regards,
    issatree.

Some good pictures there Jim. Must have been a great show.
Do you know what the things are just to the right in the photo showing the pierced balls?

I did not get a chance to ask , but assumed the paper towel holders with the weights hanging down the sides to stop the paper unravelling.
