Simple Beech Bowl
Not posted much in the turning section for a while as I am building a toy train and also 5 money boxes. I had a piece of beech that I rough turned not so long ago from very wet wood with this piece i stuck it in the airing cupboard and it has misshaped a little and also the weight has stabilised. I turned the final shape and then finished it with a three wheel buffing kit from a company here in England called Chestnut products.
Anyway it was sanded to 600grit then coated with sander sealer before doing the buffing, This is the first time I had used the buffing wheel system for polishing and am very pleased with the end result

Nice simple, uncluttered shape, I like it.

I only just spotted this one Derek. I like the look. The contrasting rim sets it off.
The three wheel buffing system sounds interesting. I noticed that you said you coated it with sanding sealer, then buffed. No other finish?
I assume that you used a shellac-based sanding sealer?... Steve
