Single Phase Motor
Hi all,
Can anyone help me i need to know where i can find a single phase motor to convert a Woodfast Lathe from 3 phase

Hare & Forbes have a range of electric motors, and McJing have some as well. Pay attention to the shaft diameter/length and the height of the shaft from the base plate. Speed will be either 1440 or 2800 RPM or thereabouts. Electrical wholesalers such as John R Turk, Auslec etc may be able to help as well.

Have you considered powering the existing 3 phase motor with a single phase input VSD. You can use the existing motor and gain speed control and motor protection.
There are a number of threads on this forum on how to go about it.Those were the droids I was looking for.
