Slightly large burl being turned
Hi All,
Seen this video Woodturning 600 pound Maple speaker cone, part 1 - YouTube on You-tube this morning, looks like a lot of fun
Has anyone had experience turning something like this?
Cheers Ben

Well, of course this work is being done on the mighty Hegner VB36 master bowl lathe from England. I have just purchased one and it arrived several weeks ago. Unfortunately it is still packed in it's shipping crate and sitting on my trailer as it was when I picked it up from Port Botany.
We're currently negotiating to purchase a new property, so there's no point unpacking the 500kg beauty until I'm ready to install it in its final resting place. Still, I look at videos like this and am tempted to get started immediately.

I've seen that video of the Lissi interview before.
I have a very healthy respect for chainsaws (I really don't like them) and there she is hollowing with one!
