stand for jet midi lathe?
Does anyone use a Jet midi 1220? If so, what stand do you have? It's taking up too much of my bench space.
Jet sells one but it's a few hundred bucks, and doesn't have any adjustment for height. I would like it about 10-15cm higher than their standard stand.
I know carba tec has one for the woodfast mini (see image here) which is adjustable in height and width, so it should fit ok, but i'm not sure about the mounting points.
eventually interested in the bed extension, so a stand which could accommodate that would be helpful.

I used a modular shelving system with a hard wooden top. The whole setup is bolted into the wall.
I'm thinking about replacing it with a home made wooden bench. Just so I have another separate shelving system again."That's impossible. Nobody can give more than 100%. By definition that is the most anyone can give"

Extremely solid and has lasted a happy 4 years so far ..

Looks great Derek.
Neil I had thought of one of those but was worried about excessive vibration given the thin metal sheeting. not a problem?

Everyone at turnfests use those aluminum folding platform things. Seems to work really well. Since no enormous weights are usually tackled on mini lathes you don't need to over engeneer the stand. And they are only $80 or so. Less if you can find a sale or something.

I think that is the technical term for one of these:
NEW STRONG ALUMINIUM WORK PLATFORM L120X W30 XH73CM
There a few different models available on Ebay and Bunnings etc sell them as well.
They make good stands for an sliding cut off saw as well.

ah thank you. i guess with one of those there would be no need to bolt it down. i guess the midi lathes aren't intended for big work, so probably not an issue

I think TL means one of these.
I keep one in my van and use it to stand on when I want to tie down loads for the roof rack on the van. I also use it as a portable workbench when I go timber milling.
Plus it is very useful for painting.
It's not as long as the ebay one but it only cost $59 at bunnings.
