Default Staved vessel w/ spiral finial.

You may have noticed, I haven't posted since 2007. I was only a few months into my turning habit. I had new computers installed and lost all my wood working links back then. I got a Happy Birthday wish from Woodwork and realized I needed to come back. Here we are 5 years later and a whole different skill level. A regular time capsule. This is a staved turning I did late last year for a contest I was in. The woods used are Tiger Eucalyptus, Bubinga, Gabon Ebony, Burl Eucalyptus and Inlace. It stands about 16 Inches tall and has around 500 pieces. Please enjoy my trip through the time machine Vortex.

Yes, great work, actually, they're stunning pieces. I love the contrast in timber and colour, they work really well. Would of taken you a while to complete?

Welcome back, keep the pictures coming, I'm interested in your work.

My first thought was too many different woods, but I'm wrong. They all harmonize together and add to the whole.

And such a wonderful form as well.

    Well done

Thanks everyone. |I have a few more pieces I'll post as soon as I get some time. I'm also starting my most challenging piece to date. It'll take a few months but it'll be worth it in the end. of course I'll turn other stuff as well, cant be off the lathe too long.
