FWIW if our dollar hadn't gown down the toilet I would have bought one of your tools by now Craig, rather than messing around with what will prob. be an inferior imitation.

You are so right on that publicity thing!! I am a control freak and this has all been a good experience to help me grow as a person.
Guys please forgive me when I get so defensive about our tools. I can only ask that you all bare with me as I am trying to make a living on these tools. Thank you for allowing me to share in the conversations here. Yes I am trying to make a buck but I hope the technical insite on woodturning physics and safety will be an asset to this forum. If not, someone PLEASE tell me and I will mention it no more.
The most important thing for me in the end is everyone just gather the facts best they can about exactly what our tool is and claims to be. I have seen some comment on the finishing cut abilities of the tool and only remind you that it is a Rougher.
I had also not realized the exchange rate was truely so crappy till I just did a AU to US convert on one of those calculator thingys online. That sucks, for now.
Sincerely,
Craig

Editing Note:
Only after I posted this post I realise that Craig was posting also, showing before this one , which was intended to answer rsser's post. If I knew, I could have compose my post slightly different, but in fact is not out of place, after reading what Craig said.
I agree with you rsser, and I've not only mention that predicament a few times recently, but I have indeed 3 emails sent to Craig's wife (Joanne), just before our dollar went totally down the drain. I wasn't only going to buy 1 but 2 Ci1 and a few inserts of each of the 3 models (various radius) they sell.
I have no doubt that many attempts of making this tool, will fail, as I believe that probably a few of them will out-perform the original. Is nothing wrong with the original, don't take me wrong but, in the process of experimenting and improvising, sometimes something will come out that will surprise even the inventor/maker.
Taking this into consideration and the fact that Craig openly admitted that himself was looking for something else (tool) to suite some of his needs, I only can suggest to Craig to keep looking at this thread, he may get lucky...!. He have lots of smart/inventive/experienced "dudes" in here!
Cheers

Graig - have you thought of manufacturing your tools here in Australia under licence? That way you would sell more here at our prices, as well as sell them cheaper back into Nth America, Europe and Asia, or at least increase your profit margin, or both. You might even get some NZ sales... .
