    Very interesting, thanks for posting.

    Not sure about the choice of title though, Think of the cost if you had say a 3/8" bowl gouge of each metal type, more like -

    Wow.

    I'd already concluded that the choice of steel is basically "what works for you" but the follow-on articles certainly give me plenty of food for thought.

    I knew that it was a smart move to polish the inside of most gouges, but hadn't really carried that concept through to scrapers. Dunno why, when it's so obvious!

    Never gave much thought to using a diamond stone to raise the burr instead of a burnisher, either. Hmmm...

    Can't wait for his next article re different steels and quality of cuts!
