Tru-Grind jig and Sherwood 8in Slow Speed Bench Grinder - which side?
Hi all,
I've just taken delivery of a Sherwood 8" slow speed bench grinder to replace my old 6" Aldi grinder. As a mainly bowl and Platter turner, I use a Tru-Grind jig for sharpening gouges, and I am waiting delivery of a GPW Sharpening Jig[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Helvetica] for scrapers, chisels and knives.
As the Sherwood grinder has one 40mm and one 25mm wheels, I wonder which wheel would be better for the Tru-Grind Jig and which for the GPW plate.
I'd appreciate your comments and your experience.
Cheers

I would put the Tru-grind on the 40mm side. The wider width will avoid gouges slipping off the wheel when rolling from side to side.
Less of an issue for scrapers and chisels.Stay sharp and stay safe!
