More turning vids: Sorby tool use
If the shed's too cold ...
Devoted to Sorby's specialised tools but there's still something to learn regarding shear scraping, hollowing, fingernail grinds etc.

Thanks rsser, interesting stuff. I will learn heaps no doubt. I like the way they choose the timber to demo with, maybe if I supply them some of the stuff I try to mess with....
Does anyone have a set of these chisels? Are they worth the money?

Yeah, looks easy with medium density timber doesn't it? (Tho maybe it was English Ash; med. density but springy stuff).
DJ did great things with the spiralling tool at 'Ern's turnfest' ... see the thread for a pic. And Cliff liked the multi-tool tear-drop shear scraper (but it was sharpened like a std scraper btw; I get better results with an angle like that, on our timbers).Cheers, Ern

Horses for courses & some tools work differently in a different set of hands.
Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
