    Default White Cedar bowl

    Good Afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen

Here is a White Cedar, or Cape Lillac, bowl I have recently finished. It is like turning cheese after the usual timbers I turn (Jarrah Burl, Wandoo Burl etc). I felt I could have used my fingernails it was so soft.
It is 290 across and finished with 10 coats of Danish Oil
    Cheers

    Nice bowl Willie.
Made a nice hall table from Cape lilac a while back, it has lovely grain, works well with a bit of dark stain rubbed into the grain, grain reminds me of English elm

Like you say very soft, my timber had a bit of fungus and rot in it in parts.

    Do you have any more?

I reckon it would go well with a decorated rim, blackened/dyed/coloured, stamped, carved, textured, &/or pyrographed.

Nice work, I do like turning it! I have a few dry logs on the shed.

    Well done Willy

Looks good. I like the grain pattern produced in the bowl.
