thanks, now that I know what they look like I will hunt around dad's shed and see if the original parts can be found.
The lathe on Greys certainly sold cheaply, production from china seems to have reduced the demand for old and 2nd hand tool market.

Maybe, but a lot of good quality older gear is still highly sought after by a fair number of people particularly by tradesmen and craftsmen. Some of the newer stuff admittedly has a lot of features not available on older gear but if you are after a solid floor mounted piece of machinery you could do a lot worse than buy a secondhand lump of cast iron at a 1/4 of the new price.Stewie
